About Our Chapter
The INCOSE Chicagoland Chapter is the regional chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), the world's leading professional society for systems engineering. Chartered at the INCOSE International Workshop on February 7, 2010, we serve practitioners across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana and the greater Chicagoland region of the United States.
Our members include systems engineers, systems architects, requirements and verification engineers, project and product managers, engineering leaders, researchers, and students — anyone who designs, builds, or manages complex systems. You do not need to be an INCOSE member to attend our events or join our mailing list.
Through monthly technical meetings, hands-on seminars and workshops — including our AI for Systems Engineering workshop — and partnerships with regional organizations, we help professionals grow their skills in MBSE, requirements, architecture, risk management, and the responsible use of AI in engineering.
The Chicagoland Chapter has received multiple INCOSE Chapter Circle Awards recognizing our efforts and contributions to the systems engineering community.

Our Mission & Goals
We believe that systems engineering principles and practices offer the best solution for organizations competing in today's global marketplace, and that the proper application of SE can directly contribute to the betterment of our region.
Educate
Improve the systems engineering work environment by educating business leaders and corporate management regarding the business case and key success factors for SE projects.
Promote
Promote the benefits of systems engineering and INCOSE while establishing liaisons and synergistic partnerships with key institutions, organizations, and individuals.
Connect
Meet monthly at multiple locations across our geographic area with webcasted technical meetings for members who cannot attend in person.

Meetings & Events

INCOSE — the International Council on Systems Engineering — is a not-for-profit membership organization founded in 1990 and the world's leading professional society for systems engineering. Its members across industry, government, and academia develop and share the principles and practices that enable the successful engineering of complex systems worldwide.
The INCOSE Chicagoland Chapter was chartered into INCOSE in 2010 and serves systems engineers and related professionals across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. We educate, promote, and connect the regional systems engineering community through monthly technical meetings, hands-on seminars and workshops, and networking — and you don't need to be an INCOSE member to attend our events.
Per the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook, systems engineering is “a transdisciplinary and integrative approach to enable the successful realization, use, and retirement of engineered systems, using systems principles and concepts, and scientific, technological, and management methods.” In practice, it turns complex needs into systems that work — balancing performance, cost, risk, and schedule across the entire life cycle.
